Chev HHR firewall

I am installing wire for my toads (Chevy HHR) tail/brake and turn signals. I will also be running the wires for the break-away switch thru the firewall to the aux. braking system. I would like to know the best area in the firewall to run the wires. Thanks

Chevrolet HHR Toad Wiring

Has anyone wired a trailer wiring kit with bulbs in an HHR? Looks like the taillights are to small to add a bulb in. Would like to do this in lieu of adding diodes if possible.
Thanks

RE: From Redneck to Necktie

Hurricane, We use "Corelle" brand dinerware which is light weight and does not break as easily as most dinnerware. It will break. Wife also found some plastic glasses a few years back that are light and look just like (almost) glass. Think the wife got them at Macy's. Probably paid more than glass ones, but they still look good after a few years of part time use.

Cummins ISC330 type oil to use

I have a 2007 HR Ambassador motor home with a Cummins ISC330 engine. I bought it new approximately 11 months ago. In some of the info that I got when I picked up the motor home it said Citgo 15W-40 heavy duty motor oil was installed at the factory. My question is should I use Citgo 15W-40 heavy duty motor oil or is there a better oil to use for the motorhomes second year of use. Thanks

RE: Alarm Sounds when making a left turn

The hose on the funnel could be turned to shut off the flow. Did it a few times till I got it to the level the RV manual recommeneded. Seems like it was 1/4 inch below the fill hole. This was a year and a half ago and my old mind just can't remember for sure. Would look it up but I have traded RV'S and don't have the directions that I went by.

RE: Alarm Sounds when making a left turn

Had the same problem. Turn left and an alarm would go off. Was in the Ozarks of Arkansas and before we got to our destination it would sound on every curve and hill, which in the Ozarks was almost constant. When I finally decided it was the lever reservoir, with the help from RV.NET I could not figure how to get the fluid in. Finally went to WalMart and they had a funnel with a small hose on the bottom. Worked great.

RE: Battery and Charger Questions

To clarify taking the battery cables off, it is because they are too short (no slack) and run across the top of the filler caps. Can not get the filler caps up to see water level. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Battery and Charger Questions

I own a 2007 HR Ambassador Diesel. I plug into 120 volt 20 amp power when in storage. After 2 months the starting batteries have been to weak to start the motor. Had to use the house batteries. I called HR technical support and they said I had to be plugged into a 50 amp service before it would charge the chassis batteries. Do you have to have a separate small charger or some other type device to keep these batteries charged? Next how is the best way to add water to the back chassis battery? I again called HR technical support and they said I would have to remove the battery cables. The owner's manual says to check the water level once a month. Seems like there should be an easier way to check and add water if necessary. Thanks in advance.

RE: Fleetwood or Holiday Rambler

Had a 2001 Fleetwood Discovery. Bought used 2 plus years ago. Battery went dead one time in over 20,000 miles. No other problems. Tired to buy a new 2007 model Discovery and just could not get the price down to what I could buy a new 2007 HR 40'Ambassardor. The HR rides better, but the inside finish is not as good as the older Discovery. (Just my opinion) Already had one large piece of trim fall off. Lot of putty used. After having both the Discovery and the HR and if I was buying today I would still look at both and the price and floor plans would be the deciding factor.

RE: No power to recepticles

Had the same problem on our class A. There was two circuit breakers on front of the inverter (in the storage area below) and one was tripped.

RE: Amps when parked and good service

Thanks everyone. It was the block heater. Just didn't think to check it.

Amps when parked and good service

I have a 2007 HR Ambassador and when it's parked and plugged into 120 volts the inside panel alternately reads 9 and 10 amps. Of coarse I have a battery switch to cut it all off, but would like to know what's up with the 9 and 10 amp reading. What am I missing? It has been plugged up for a week now and it still reads the same.
Next item is about being treated as if I was a good loyal customer, when all I needed was a warrenty item looked at and fixed if possible. The wife and myself were traveling from Denver, CO to Hot Springs, AR with one of the furnaces inoperative. Tried to have it fixed in Denver but the RV dealer was booked up. It was Friday and it would be the next Tuesday before they could look at it. Said they would have to order any parts if they were needed. Was leaving Monday so that didn't work out. Called Monaco and they gave us the name of some HR dealers on our way to Arkansas. Finally a dealer in Norman, OK was booked up but said they would be glad to work us in if we could get there by two thirty. We got there, FLOYD'S, around noon and they were having their Thanksgiving office meal. You guessed it. Everyone around got turkey and all the fixing, including us. The tech, I think his name was Mike, seen some loose trim and fixed it with a smile. I also ask him a few questions we had about the RV that had come up on our first long trip, 30+ days, and he had a knowable answer for each. We left happy and everything was working.
PS The RV was bought in Indiana, not Oklahoma.
